Stephen Moyer (formerly Stephen Emery)
I was a member of Young Gen before going on to formal training at The London Academy of Dramatic Art. It was a beginning for me of a building in confidence that allowed me to feel that I was able to pursue acting as a profession. I have now been an actor for 30 years.
After graduating from LAMDA Stephen worked in theatre for five years with the National Theatre Wales, the Royal Shakespeare Company and Oxford Stage Company. Stephen’s first television role was in 1993 in the TV adaptation of the play Conjugal Rites. In 1997 he made his screen debut landing the leading role in Prince Valient. He is best known however as vampire Bill Compton in the American HBO series ‘True Blood’. In 2010 he married Anna Paquin who played his love interest Sookie Stackhouse in the series and they are now based in Los Angeles. In 2017 the couple collaborated on an indie film called the Parting Glass which was Stephen’s Directorial debut.
