Young Gen win trio of NODA Awards for second year in a row

“Every show a sell-out; every show a standing ovation.”(Michael Gray’s Arts blog) – and now Young Gen’s production  of Les Miserables has won not one but two NODA East awards (District 8), for Best Youth Production and Best Musical 2012. It will come as no surprise to anyone who was lucky enough to see Chelmsford Young Generation’s recent production of Les Misérables at the Civic Theatre in November. “Sheer brilliance. Worthy of a West End show” “Absolutely brilliant I am blown away by the fantastic voices!” “A wonderful production!” “Absolutely fabulous performance” “Truly amazing” “So professional no-one put a foot wrong” – are just some of the amazing comments the audience left on their feedback forms, many even likening it to a West End production. In the words of Stewart Adkins, the NODA East Representative, himself “Young Gen’s production was of such quality that the lines between amateur and professional have been blurred”.

But that wasn’t all for 2012, as Young Gen’s April 2012 production HONK! also received a nomination for Best Youth Production alongside Les Miserables, and Young Gen member Bart Lambert won Best Youth Performer for his role as Ugly in HONK!
